Multikino, the leading cinema operator in Poland, yesterday (13.09.2010) submitted its
prospectus to the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF). The proceeds from the Initial
Public Offering (IPO) will support Multikino’s further development of its multiscreen cinema
network.
– In our opinion the Polish cinema market is one of the most attractive markets in Europe.
It has a significantly lower number of screens per capita and average ticket price, compared
to the most developed European countries. This creates great growth and development
opportunities for Multikino. The current accessibility of cinema screens is still low,
particularly in midsize cities, where we plan to locate our further investments – underlines
Piotr Zygo, the President of Multikino.
The company intends to use the proceeds raised from the planned IPO, to fund the development
of new multiplex cinemas. In addition to the new share offering, the offer will also include
a portion of existing shares.
Multikino’s shareholders – the ITI Group, which controls 86% of the share capital and AREA
Property Partners investment fund which owns 14% of the share capital through their subsidiaries
– confirm their intention to dispose a part of Multikino shares, with the restriction that the
ITI Group remains the majority shareholder of Multikino (minimum 51%).
Multikino intends to execute the share offering by the end of this year subject to approval by
the Polish Financial Supervision Authority as well as market conditions. Multikino is advised
by Ipopema Securities which acts as offering broker. The shares will be offered in the retail
tranche and in the institutional investors tranche.
In 2009 Multikino Group recorded revenues of PLN 290m; EBITDA of PLN 52.6m and net profit of PLN 9,6m.
