Poland's first 24-hour news channel was launched in August 2001. TVN 24 covers local and international news complemented by special reports and discussions, as well as documentaries. Starting at 6 am every day, TVN 24 broadcast latest news, weather forecast and press reviews. Every half hour sees an update covering breaking news in politics, economics, business and sport, and the latest on the weather. TVN 24 also offer regular news feature programs such as "Magazyn 24 Godziny" ("24 Hours Magazine"), "Firma" ("Company"), the magazine about business and economics and "Szklo kontaktowe" ("Lens"), the satiric magazine on current affairs. Each day is concluded with "Wieczor w TVN 24" ("Evening at TVN24"), presenting a summary of the day's events.
TVN 24 is available through the majority of Poland's cable networks, as well as on Poland's leading DTH (direct-to-home) platform where it is the best performing pay channel ranking right after the main Polish free-to-air channels. TVN 24 is also available in the USA, where it is distributed through the Echostar DTH platform to the Polish communities.
